Top Performing Content by Analytics and by Visibility Beacons

Description

gShift has developed two separate Beacons, which will enable you to identify your Top Performing On-Site Content based on Analytics or your Top Content based on Organic Search Visibility.

The first Beacon can be configured to display and sort your website traffic by Sessions, Pageviews and/or Conversions.

The second Beacon identifies all of the on-site or off-site content you are following, which maintains keyword positions for a specified keyword kluster in a selected engine. The Beacon uses those positions to calculate a relative strength rating of Strong, Average or Weak enabling you to determine which content needs to be maintained or boosted.

Now What

This Beacon enables you to identify top and low performing content and make adjustments.

Some common adjustments and recommendations to consider include:

  • Top Content by Visibility
    • Review keywords the content is ranking for and ensure the content is optimized for them. You can use the gShift Content Optimizer found at the On-Site Content detail level.
    • Build each piece of content's authority and relative strength by creating and linking to it via complementary content e.g. a blog post, an external article or by socializing the content to encourage reads, likes and shares.

  • Top On-Site Content by Analytics
    • Review the list of content and identify low-performing content. Focus on improving traffic to any page by optimizing it for specific keywords, creating more internal links and/or backlinks to it and socializing the content with Calls to Action pointing back to it.
    • Content with all 0s may:
      • Have no analytics code.
      • URL is incorrect and you should probably unfollow it.
      • Content has moved. Ensure you create a permanent 301 redirect to its new location and you should probably unfollow it.
      • Content is no longer relevant i.e. outdated content or old product/service and you should probably unfollow it.
