How is Search Volume Determined in gShift?

In August/September 2016, Google Adwords Keyword Planner tool began providing low volume users/advertisers with search volume ranges instead of monthly averages, as had previously been the case.

In October 2016, gShift began displaying search volume for any newly followed keywords as an average of the range of search volumes provided in the Keyword Planner. For example, a keyword with a volume range of 10-100 has an average of 10+100/2 = 55. While not wholly accurate, we believe this still provides a relatively good measure of keyword strength and relevance.

Note: This only applies to keywords newly followed in gShift beyond October 2016. Keywords followed prior to October 2016 will include average search volumes as provided by Google Adwords Keyword Planner.
